Sierra Monolithics Appoints Javed Patel as New CEO

REDONDO BEACH, CA -- Sierra Monolithics, a leading producer of RFICs and modules for wireless, wireline, and military applications, announced today that Javed Patel has joined the company as President and CEO. “We welcome Javed to the Sierra Monolithics team,” pronounced Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board, Charles Harper. “Javed has a good understanding of exactly what is needed to manage our growth and take us to the next level.”

Preceding Sierra Monolithics, Mr. Patel was with Quake Technologies, a 10Gb Ethernet semiconductor company that has been acquired by AMCC. Previous to Quake, he spent several years in senior management positions at ANADIGICS, Tropian, and WJ Communications addressing wireless handset, infrastructure, optical communication, and CATV markets. “Javed’s background is well suited for Sierra Monolithics,” noted Mr. Harper, “he has direct experience in our technologies, markets, and products.”

Mr. Patel’s addition to the company comes at an exciting time, as the company sees significant growth in all its key markets: WiMAX, Optical Communication, and Microwave. “We are witnessing strong revenue growth, as well as prospects with blue chip customers for all of our major business segments” said Mr. Patel. “My goal is to lead Sierra Monolithics to become the leader in commercial high volume RFIC transceivers and high-speed optical communication ICs…I look forward to the challenges and the tremendous opportunities we face as we take Sierra to the next level.”
